NHACDA Middle School Honors ChoiR

Mission: A unique, state-wide auditioned choral festival for middle school students.

Auditions due: Friday, November 21 at 5:00PM.
Festival date: Friday, January 23
Location: Timberlane Regional High School

Information: Over the summer an ACDA committee of 9-10 middle school chorus teachers from around New Hampshire gave input for an auditioned middle school chorus festival. We wanted to create a unique festival from our amazing district festivals, one that was auditioned, state-wide and had unique ensembles.

Ensemble information: There will be a treble choir and a “baritone” choir that will encompass unchanged, changed and changing voices. The choirs will also come together to sing one closing piece.

Who should audition: 6th, 7th and 8th Grade students in New Hampshire. Supporting teachers do not need to be members of NHACDA but we certainly hope you'll consider joining our community!

How to audition: Each teacher will submit recordings from their student. There should be three separate elements: one scale, one vocalise track that has three vocalises and the folk song, The Water is Wide. Students can record as many times as they like but they should only submit one recording of each track (three total recordings).

Request an audition folder from [email protected] to submit your student auditions.

Thank you for your patience and understanding – this festival is being created by ACDA and our festival committee and we are still working out some details. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions or want to serve on the committee.
